The power of praying in tongues


PRAYING IN TONGUES

 Speaking in tongues is One of the most controversial and, sadly, most misunderstood gifts of the Holy Spirit  given by the Holy Spirit, and whoever wants it, may receive it. You only need to request it from the Holy Spirit.
Man is a spirit, but he has a soul and lives in a body. 1thessaloniansa 5:23
When  a person gets born again, his spirit is recreated, and thats why the Bible says in if any man be in Christ he has become a new creation2 Corinthians 5:17 and God decided to give this recreated being a new language of Angles  1Corithians 13:1.
After equipping them with this new language, He also gave his Disciple characteristics and features by which his saints will be identified. In the book of mark 16:17-18.
This was triggered on the day of Pentecost John 14:16 and Acts 2:1-4 were 120 disciples of Jesus got a visitation of the Holy Spirit

We need to be honest with ourselves and honest with the biblical text. This unique gift of the Holy Spirit actually announced the birth of Christiay on the Day of Pentecost. It was highly prized by the man who wrote the majority of the New Testament (Paul). It equips believers to communicate with God on a unique level and empowers us to effectively live the supernatural life
Speaking in Tongues Is More Than a One-Time Experience
The Glory Within makes the powerful point that tongues is not some spiritual merit pin we receive when we are baptized in the Holy Spirit, use it for a season, and then put it out to pasture. Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke comments on the gifts of the Spirit, emphasizing that they are not pins of honor but tools for the job. The gift of tongues is something that the apostle Paul deeply cherished, and he provided nearly an entire chapter of instruction on it in 1 Corinthians 14.
Tongues are a gift. It is a tool. It is powerful, available and absolutely life-changing. However, many receive this gift at one point in their lives and taste its power, but they never actually make it a part of their normal Christian lives. This is why Corey invites all readers and participants to throw their badges (pins) in the trash. Yesterdays encounter with God cannot sustain us for today.

Do you believe that the Holy Spirit is capable of healing you? Yes or No.
Only God can heal but not the Holy spirit, some people say so but the reality is that, The Holy Spirit is God. Jesus is God. The Holy Father is God. I replied. These three persons work like a team. Nothing goes to God directly, rather through Jesus, Gods son. However, the Holy Spirit is the one who makes the miracles.
WHY PRAYING IN TONGUES WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE FOREVER
Based on The Glory Within, here are five ways that praying in tongues will change your life forever.

1. Praying in Tongues Gives You Supernatural Understanding of Gods Mysteries

"For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries" (1 Cor. 14:2, NKJV).

Corey describes the Holy Spirit as the Google, or search engine of heaven. God is mysterious, yes, but the Spirit who knows everything about the mysterious, expansive, glorious God is the same Spirit who lives inside of you! And furthermore, He wants to reveal mysteries to you about God, His will, your life and the circumstances you are facing.

Remember, Paul defines Holy Spirit as the One who searches out everything and shows us Gods deep secrets (1 Cor. 2:10, NLT). As you pray in the Spirit, you will discover things that were previously mysterious and unknown will start coming into greater focus and clarity.

2. Praying in Tongues Grants You Access to Other Revelatory Gifts of the Holy Spirit

"For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit ... to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues" (1 Cor. 12: 8, 10, NKJV).
Praying in tongues actually unlocks other revelatory gifts of the Holy Spirit in your life, namely the word of wisdom, word of knowledge, prophecy and discerning of spirits. Remember, you are not praying on a natural dimension, but rather engaging on a purely spiritual one
3. Praying in Tongues Opens Up the Bible in a New, Living Way as You Read It

"However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak" (John 16:13).

4. When Praying in Tongues, You Are Speaking Directly to God

"For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God" (1 Cor. 14:2).

As you pray in tongues, you have a direct line to the president of the universe. Sometimes while praying in our native languages, we have the tendency to bend off and get distracted. We may start complaining. We may start going through the routine laundry list of prayer requestsand by the time we are finished reading them off to God, we feel more burdened than refreshed (because we actively thought of every single one of those circumstances as we listed them off in prayer). Tongues keeps us talking directly to God, praying in agreement with His perfect will (Rom. 8:26-28).

5. Praying in Tongues Empowers You to Engage Spiritual Warfare from the Position of Victory
"Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit" (Eph. 6:18).
Praying in tongues is not some magic formula that guarantees us some free and easy lifestyle of health, wealth, prosperity and all of those fixings.

This came at the time when the leader of the nation by them Idi Amin Dada did want Christianity to be heard.so all Christian leaders in Kampala were arrested and taken to makindye Court martial to be slaughtered and this pastors were put to sit in a que waiting for slaughter just like the way patients would que to see the the Doctor so one man of God requested the in charge to allow him pray before they slaughter him in did his request was granted. When he got into one of the rooms, he barsted in to tougue speaking in prayer, as he was praying, this officer were getting confused on who should slaughter this very man of God.after praying in the Holygohst, he told them he was ready.an argument broke out in decision making on who should lay the knife on to neck of the man of God.After arguing for long, they decided to let the man of God go through the behind door not to allow other soldiers and pastors see the controversial. From the slaughter court, the man of God was lead by God to the theological training center in Full gospel church in Kampala were he met other men on God in class and shared with them what had happened to him and what saved him. From that day every theologian in that Training school believed in the power of speaking and praying in Tongues. This testimony is confirmed by Rev opio moses the Senior pastor at Soroti baptist church. In did let's embrace the gift given to us by God, for edification.

In times of trial and assault, it is easy for us to become weary in the place of prayer, often not knowing what or how to pray. Praise God for the Holy Spirit! Paul reminds us "for we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us" (Rom. 8:26).
Praying in tongues empowers you to agree with Gods victorious battle plan for your life and your circumstances, no matter what is going on around you. It does not deny reality; it simply positions you to agree with the higher truth of Scripture: Victory has been purchased, and it is yours through Jesus Christ.

"But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, that no flesh should glory in His presence" (1 Cor. 1:27-29).

Just because our minds cannot understand the whys of Gods ways, that does not give us permission to ignore them. Tongues are surely a mystery, but at the same time it is a powerful gift that will not only enrich your personal prayer life but will bring you into deeper intimacy and communion with the Holy Spirit.

What is God’s will? God’s will is for none of his children to perish
John18:1, 19 John 6:38-39 the father’s will, it’s not for us to be sick, failures in poverty. He tell us in the book of john that in that day you shall ask me nothing but whatsoever you ask the father in my Name you shall receive only if you believe.
What happened to the children of Israel in the book of Exodus 16:4-36 was that the Lord rained down the bread. But the children of Israel grumbled to God for one meal, Here they were testing God (Exodus17:2) this was not God’s will but it was a test to the children of Israel (v4).
In Philippians 2:14-15 do all things without grumbling, 15 if you don’t grumble; you will shine like a star.
God wants us to rely on the Sword here we see that Joshua and the team overcame the Amalekites by the sword Exodus 17:13.
For us the new creation, we are to overcome the world by the word of God in us Joshua 1:8
God’s will is to give us rest Joshua 1:13
Ingratiate (Grk)-Hold on don’t strike back live God to deal with them/ the Wicked.
Romans 12:1–2 I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
The aim of Romans 12:1–2 is that all of life would become “spiritual worship.” Verse 1: “Present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.” The aim of all human life in God’s eyes is that Christ would be made to look as valuable as he is. Worship means using our minds and hearts and bodies to express the worth of God and all he is for us in Jesus.
Those who believe in Christ Jesus are already blood-bought new creatures in Christ. “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation” (2 Corinthians 5:17). But now we must become what we are. “Cleanse out the old leaven that you may be a new lump, as you really are unleavened” (1 Corinthians 5:7).
The Two Wills of God
There are two clear and very different meanings for the term “will of God” in the Bible.

1. God’s Will of Decree, or Sovereign Will
First of all, “the will of God” as his sovereign control of all that comes to pass. Is the way Jesus spoke of the will of God in Gethsemane when he was praying? He said, in Matthew 26:39, “My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as you will.” What does the will of God refer to in this verse? It refers to the sovereign plan of God that will happen in the coming hours. You recall how Acts 4:27–28 says this: “Truly in this city there were gathered together against your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, along with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel, to do whatever your hand and your plan had predestined to take place.” So the “will of God” was that Jesus die. This was his plan, his decree. There was no changing it, and Jesus bowed and said, “Here’s my request, but you do what is best to do.” That’s the sovereign will of God.
And don’t miss the very crucial point here that it includes the sins of man. Herod, Pilate, the soldiers, the Jewish leaders — they all sinned in fulfilling God’s will that his Son be crucified (Isaiah 53:10).
In 1 Peter 3:17 Peter writes, “It is better to suffer for doing good, if that should be God’s will, than for doing evil.” In other words, it may be God’s will that Christians suffer for doing good. He has in mind persecution. But persecution of Christians who do not deserve it is sin. So again, God sometimes wills that events come about that include sin. “It is better to suffer for doing good, if that should be God’s will.”
Paul gives a sweeping summary statement of this truth in Ephesians 1:11, “In him [Christ] we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will.” The will of God is God’s sovereign governance of all that comes to pass.
2. God’s Will of Command
Now the other meaning for “the will of God” in the Bible is what we can call his “will of command.” His will is what he commands us to do. This is the will of God we can disobey and fail to do. The will of decree we do whether we believe in it or not. The will of command we can fail to do. For example, Jesus said, “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven” (Matthew 7:21). Not all do the will of his Father. He says so. “Not everyone will enter the kingdom of heaven.” Why? Because not all do the will of God.
Paul says in 1 Thessalonians 4:3, “This is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality.” Here we have a very specific instance of what God commands of us: holiness, sanctification, sexual purity. This is his will of command. But, oh, so many do not obey.
Then Paul says in 1 Thessalonians 5:18, “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” There again is a specific aspect of his will of command: Give thanks in all circumstances. But many do not do this will of God.
One more example: “And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever” (1 John 2:17). Not all abide forever. Some do. Some don’t. The difference is? Some do the will of God. Some don’t. The will of God, in this sense, does not always happen. Ex33:19 I will make my goodness be with you.

MAIN TEXT: Malachi 3:8-10,
 Proverbs 28:24 whoso robbeth his father or his mother and saith, it is no transgression, the same is the companion of a destroyer.
WHAT IS TITHING?
*      It’s giving 1/10 of every penny worth of tithe or tenth.
*      It’s the Heavenly Sacco (God’s Sacco) and the beneficiaries are the contributing members.
WHAT HAPPENS TO THE PEOPLE IN THE SACCO?
They do not worry about tomorrow issues such as; School fees, Food, Medical Bills, Rent, Mention them.
The Bible is telling us about a robber, who is a robber?
 He/she is a sinful person aiming at killing/destroying life or property. There two kinds of Robbers; (1) Earthly Robber and (2) Heavenly Robber.
Here we are talking about the Heavenly Robber and if we are looking for (them) “professional Robbers”, “they are in the House of God”! Surprisingly, they are not moved by any worldly prosecution because their Taxes are remitted automatically to the Government Pull. And yet to the Heavenly pull, nothing is being remitted because it’s not pulling ropes but it is command which they are not listening too.
The Christians are not for now moved by the prosecution because they are aware that their Judge (God) is in Heaven and will not come soon to prosecute them and if He Plans to Come they assume they will repent and snick to Heaven. Tithing is a command that Christians ought to do whenever God Blesses or Increases them in Places of work, Business or even ministry. So it’s wrong to assume of repenting when you don’t own an account in Heaven.
This is what happened to the Rich man and the Tax Collector in the Bible (Luke 18:13 and Luke 12:16-20) respectively.
Beloved in the Lord I strongly encourage you to own an account in the Heavenly Ream so that they may be enough in our Houses.
OUR LIFE IS LIKE A CAR/VEHICLE
We are sure that the fuel Station of our lives is GOD himself. We know that it’s Him who enables us wake up and be able to do all our daily activities in Success. But if decides not to give fuel, you will not live your home or where your car got stack from. ( Luke 12:20 But God said to the man, “you are a fool. Tonight you will die. You will have to leave everything behind……) implying that the car was to stop moving.
Why people don’t Tithe?  Because of fear of tomorrows up keep, accumulate wealth, Reduces profit, Fear let go the money God has given them. And yet God says in PHILIPIANS 4:19 God shall supply all your needs according to his riches in Glory…imagine these Riches in Heaven it’s also part of the moneys contributed by the Sacco’s members. Hallelujah!
God tells us not to be greedy…..Luke 12:15, 22, 23, and 25(Amp). Lay your Treasures in Heaven
IS NOT GIVING TITHE A SIN? YES WHAT IS THE REWARD
Proverbs 28:24 destruction, Proverbs 28:13 He who covers sin will not prosper………..
DANGERS OF NOT TITHING
Poverty: proverbs 28:22 poverty will rule over your life
Destruction: Proverbs 29:1 He who begins often reproves/corrected hardens his neck shall suddenly be destroyed and without remedy.
BENEFITS OF TITHING  
Deuteronomy 12:12   given Children of both sex: you will live in joy, you will have helpers, and you will not struggle in life because of helpers
-10 God will give you peace and he will keep your enemies off from your surrounding
-18 God will enlarge your territories (not just only locally but internationally)
-28 things will go well with your family and Generation things will all work for their good
WHY DO WE TITHE?

HOW TO GIVE TITHE
Deuteronomy 26:14 #1Give God first before you begins using/eating the goods. #2Clean yourself first (Repent off your sins)
When do you give the Tithe? Deuteronomy 14:28 At the end of every Increase or promotion
Who are the Beneficiaries of the Tithe? Deuteronomy 14:27 Never reject Gods minister (Levites) in your Town.
-29 The Levites (God’s ministers), Fatherless, Widows, Strangers all should get satisfied.
WHERE THE TITHE SHOULD BE PAID TO?
Deuteronomy 14:24 and if the distance is too long for you carry your tithe to the place where the Lord your God chooses for you more so where his Name is being Glorified.
Deuteronomy 12:13-14 Do not put your offering any place but where the Lord as put you to be taught the Word of God.

Definition of God's Grace
1- "Grace may be defined as the unmerited or undeserving favor of God to those who are under condemnation."
2- Grace means God’s love in action towards men who merited the opposite of love. Grace means God moving heaven and earth to save sinners who could not lift a finger to save themselves.
3-Grace means God sending His only Son to descend into hell on the cross so that we guilty ones might be reconciled to God and received into heaven. ‘(God) hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in him’" (2 Corinthians 5:21).
Grace is God’s
(1.) Favour, kindness, friendship (Gen. 6:8; 18:3; 19:19; 2 Tim. 1:9).
(Exodus 33:13-19 NIV) If you are pleased with me, teach me your ways so I may know you and continue to find favor with you. Remember that this nation is your people.” {14} The LORD replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” {15} Then Moses said to him, “If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here. {16} How will anyone know that you are pleased with me and with your people unless you go with us? What else will distinguish me and your people from all the other people on the face of the earth?” {17} And the LORD said to Moses, “I will do the very thing you have asked, because I am pleased with you and I know you by name.” {18} Then Moses said, “Now show me your glory.” {19} And the LORD said, “I will cause all my goodness to pass in front of you, and I will proclaim my name, the LORD, in your presence. I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.
 (2.) God's forgiving mercy (Rom. 11:6; Eph. 2:5).
(Romans 5:17). "For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ!"

 (3.) The gospel as distinguished from the law (Rom.6:14; 1 Pet. 5:12).
 (John 1:17). "For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ"
(Ephesians 3:14-21 NIV) For this reason I kneel before the Father, {15} from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. {16} I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, {17} so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, {18} may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, {19} and to know this love that surpasses knowledge–that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. {20} Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, {21} to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
 (4.) Gifts freely bestowed by God; as miracles, prophecy, tongues (Rom. 15:15; 1 Cor. 15:10; Eph. 3:8).
(Ephesians 2:8-10). "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do"










The Glory of God is His Goodness and Love Revealed

The glory of God is the manifestation and revelation of the His love in the radiance of His power and splendor.
What is Glory?
(1.)     Abundance, wealth, treasure (Ps. 49:12); glory (Gen. 31:1; Matt. 4:8; Rev. 21:24, 26).
(Colossians 1:27 NIV) To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
(2.)      Honour, dignity (1 Kings 3:13; Heb. 2:7 1 Pet. 1:24); of God (Ps. 19:1; 29:1)
(Revelation 21:22-24 NIV) I did not see a temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. {23} The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp. {24} the nations will walk by its light and the kings of the earth will bring their splendor into it.
v  We are the city set on top of the Hill for the whole world to see we do not need the sun, stars and the moon for light; we are the light of this world not like our friends the Muslims do.
(1peter 2:9)
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:

(3.) Splendour, brightness, majesty (Gen. 45:13; Isa. 4:5; Acts 22:11; 2 Cor. 3:7); of Jehovah (Isa. 59:19; 60:1; 2 Thess. 1:9).
(Exodus 24:17 NIV) To the Israelites the glory of the LORD looked like a consuming fire on top of the mountain.

(4.) Jesus is the "brightness of the Father's glory"(Heb.1:3; John 1:14; 2:11).
(Isaiah 60:1-2 NIV) “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you. {2} See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the LORD rises upon you and his glory appears over you.
(5.) The bliss of heaven (Rom. 2:7, 10; 5:2; 8:18; Heb. 2:10; 1 Pet. 5:1,
(2 Corinthians 3:16-18 NIV) But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. {17} Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. {18} And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
(2 Corinthians 4:3-7 NIV) And even if our Gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. {4} The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the Gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. {5} For we do not preach ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. {6} For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ. {7} But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.




BEING A GOOD PARENT
Being a good parent can be one of the most difficult and challenging venture, but at the same time can be the most rewarding and fulfilling thing we ever do.
The bible has a great deal to say about the way we can successfully raise our children to be men and women of God.
*     The First thing we must do is teach them the truth about God’s word. Deuteronomy 6:7-9
*     Although our children learn a great deal through direct teaching they learn much more by watching us this is why we must be careful in everything we do. We must first acknowledge our God given roles.
*     Husband and Wives are to be mutually respectful and Submissive to each other (Ephesians 5:21)
*     At the same time God has established  a line of authority to keep order lets realize that the head of every man is Christ, the head of a woman is man and the head of Christ is God.(1 Corinthians 11:3)
*     Proverbs 19:18 Discipline your son for in that there is hope do not be a willing party to his death.
*     Hebrew 12:11 about discipline it’s painful ………
*     As a good parents it’s important to get your children involved in church family and ministry (Hebrews 10:25)
*     He who saws iniquity will reap sorrow and the rod of his anger will fail (proverbs 22:8)
*     Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it (Proverbs 22:6)
DAVID’S HISTORICAL LIFE
The Bible say that David was a man after God’s own heart we need to see what characteristics he had to Qualify for such an exalted description in the books of Acts 13:22 as the apostle Paul was speaking before the men of Israel and he tells them of God’s feeling s about King David.
Let’s look at some of the Key Characteristics of David’s Life.
Ø  First he had absolute faith in God (1samuel 17:37)
Ø  Secondly he absolutely loved God of the 150 psalms in the bible; David is credited for writing over half of them. (psalm 119:48)
Ø  Thirdly Entering the gates with thanks giving and his courts with praise (psalms 100:4)
Ø  Fourth David was repentant truly, it happed late one afternoon when David arose from his couch and was walking on the root of the kings house that he saw from the roof of the kings house that he saw from the roof a woman bathing and the woman was very beautiful and he sent for her she was called Bathsheba the daughter to  Eliam  and he made her pregnant
(2 Samuel 11:2-5)  He admitted sinning (2samuel 12:13)
WHY DAVID WAS REJECTED BY HIS FAMILY MEMBERS.
According to the Jewish tradition it was assumed that David was born as a result of adulterous relationship of his parents Jesse and Nizbeth. For that reason, David was rejected by his family a members because his mother gave birth to him out of the Wedlock.
And so David was considered a “BASTERD” following the Hebrew translation the Word is “MUZAR” which means a “STRANGER” OR “BASTRRED” We get it in ( Pslams69:8)
He was an object of jokes and pranks, rejection, filling his plate with Gall and His Cup with Vinegar (psalms 69:20-21)
This explains why David’s Family members forced him to be the shepherd in the fields by himself, they were hopping a bear or Lion would kill him.
